I wanted to be a pilot. My parents wanted me to be a dentist. Dentistry won.

Your questions, answered

Will it look natural?

You choose a colour with your dentist so it blends with your teeth, then the resin is shaped and polished. Tell us what you like and what you do not.

Can bonding fix what I can see?

It is used for chips, small gaps, uneven edges and teeth that look slightly misshapen. Your dentist checks your teeth and tells you honestly if something else would suit you better.

I've just finished aligners. Is this for me?

Small shape and edge changes are the kind of thing bonding is used for. Bring your questions, and your dentist will look at how your teeth sit now.

I'm comparing bonding and veneers

The practice offers bonding, porcelain veneers, teeth whitening and Invisalign. Ask for a straight comparison for your teeth, including the full cost of each.

I've had work done before and didn't like it

Tell us what went wrong and what you wanted instead. Your dentist will look at it and talk you through what can be done.

I have a date coming up

Tell us the date when you speak to the team. They will tell you honestly what timing is realistic.

How much is it?

Composite bonding is from £180 a tooth. You get the full price, including anything extra, before you decide.

Does the preview show my real result?

No. It is an AI-generated idea from your own photo. Only your dentist can say what is suitable and what result to expect.

Will it chip or stain?

Bonding can chip, stain or wear. Ask your dentist how to look after it, and confirm what is covered and what repairs cost before you go ahead.

What happens at the appointment?

First you talk it through and match the shade. If you go ahead, the resin is moulded onto the tooth, hardened, then shaped and polished. Ask the team how long yours will take.

I'm nervous about the dentist
